Aptos, the Layer 1 blockchain, achieved a significant milestone in its ecosystem recently. On May 24, it set a new record for transactions within the blockchain, surpassing its competitor, Solana.
According to data published by the Aptoscan platform, Aptos recorded an impressive 115.4 million transactions in just 24 hours over the weekend, while Solana saw 31.7 million transactions on the same day.
This milestone not only surpassed previous records but also broke the record held by the Sui Network blockchain, which had exceeded 65 million transactions on its Layer 1.
The Aptoscan platform also revealed that user transactions per second (TPS) on the Aptos network reached an all-time high of 32,000 on May 25.
This recent development in the Aptos ecosystem highlights the growing transactional activity on its blockchain, demonstrating the network’s growth and Aptos’ continued rise in the market.
As of the time of publication, the price of Aptos (APT) was $9.35, with a 3.5% increase in the last 24 hours. The cryptocurrency recorded a trading volume of $150,517,156 during this period and has appreciated by 12.6% in the last seven days.
In contrast, Solana, often referred to as the “Ethereum killer,” achieved a significant milestone by being classified as the fastest blockchain in the world. According to a recent study by Mercado, Solana processed an impressive 95 million transactions in a single day, outperforming its competitors.
The study highlighted that Solana achieved an average of 1,053 transactions per second (TPS), demonstrating its superior technical capability and solidifying its position in the cryptocurrency market. In comparison, Sui and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) recorded 854 and 378 TPS, respectively, while Ethereum and Bitcoin face limitations with much lower speeds of 22.8 and 10.7 TPS.
