Charles Hoskinson, the mastermind behind Cardano (ADA), has emphasized that the blockchain is on the brink of a significant update within its ecosystem. The highly anticipated hard fork, dubbed Chang, is set to be launched later this month, ushering in a new era for the network known as the “Era of Voltaire”.
With the Cardano community buzzing with excitement over the latest developments, many are speculating whether this will lead to a surge in the price of the ADA cryptocurrency.
“It appears that June will mark the release of Cardano Node version 9.0. This milestone signifies that Cardano is fully prepared for the Chang hard fork, pending the installation of the new node by 70% of SPOs. Once this is achieved, the fork will propel Cardano into the Age of Voltaire, a monumental moment in the history of Cardano and the industry at large,” Hoskinson revealed.
The Chang hard fork is poised to introduce Voltaire, a cutting-edge governance system. Hoskinson believes that Voltaire will set the standard as the most advanced blockchain governance system available in the industry.
“Cardano is set to evolve into a decentralized society that transcends borders, with millions of inhabitants. We will boast the most advanced blockchain governance system, complete with annual budgets, a treasury, and the collective wisdom of our community to guide us. For some of us, this journey has spanned nearly a decade. It’s incredible to think that in just ten years, we have built a nation. I am immensely proud of everyone involved. Cardano instills hope for our industry and the world. We are poised to make a significant impact in the universe over the next decade,” he added.
Last month, Hoskinson announced the inclusion of Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 69 in the upcoming Chang hard fork. This decision was made in response to community demand and after consultations with relevant stakeholders.
As of the time of writing, the price of Cardano was sitting at US$0.447, reflecting a 1.2% increase in the past 24 hours.
