Justin Sun, the visionary founder of TRON (TRON), has unveiled ambitious plans to develop a new stablecoin that facilitates fee-free transfers. This groundbreaking announcement was made on platform X on July 6th, promising a significant shift in blockchain transactions.
Sun emphasized that the stablecoin will eliminate the need for gas fees traditionally associated with blockchain transfers. Instead, these fees will be fully covered by the stablecoin itself, marking a pivotal advancement in transaction efficiency.
“Our team is pioneering a solution enabling gas-free transfers for stablecoins. This means users can transact without the burden of gas tokens, as all fees will be absorbed by the stablecoin,” stated Sun.
According to Sun’s disclosures, the initial launch of the stablecoin will debut on the TRON blockchain, with subsequent plans to extend compatibility to Ethereum and all blockchains supporting the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The anticipated rollout of this service is slated for the fourth quarter of this year.
“This innovation will debut on TRON initially, expanding to Ethereum and all EVM-compatible chains thereafter,” highlighted Sun. “We aim to commence this service by Q4 of this year. Such advancements are set to simplify the deployment of stablecoin services for major enterprises, catalyzing blockchain’s broader adoption,” he added.
However, Sun’s announcement did not delve into the technical specifics behind achieving gasless transfers on blockchain networks.
In the evolving cryptocurrency landscape, this new stablecoin is poised to compete directly with existing offerings, including PayPal’s PYUSD, potentially reshaping digital payments.
As of the latest update, TRON was quoted at US$0.1293, reflecting a marginal 0.2% decline over the past 24 hours despite a 3.4% increase over the past week.
