Cardano Gears Up for Launching Hard Fork Chang a Vital Move Towards Governance

During a recent live Q&A session, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, shared important updates on the blockchain platform’s development and the upcoming Chang hard fork. Broadcasting from his ranch in Wyoming, Hoskinson discussed the challenges faced by Cardano and the progress made in overcoming them. He highlighted the successful implementation of CIP 1694, which took two years to complete and has strengthened the platform’s infrastructure.
The focus of the presentation was on the imminent launch of node 9.0, a crucial component for the Chang Hard Fork. Hoskinson expressed his excitement about this upgrade, stating that it is almost ready to be deployed. He mentioned that the upgrade may take place as early as next week, depending on any unforeseen events.
The launch of node 9.0 is significant for Cardano as it marks the transition to the Voltaire era, which is primarily focused on governance. Once the network node density reaches approximately 70%, the hard fork will be triggered, enabling deeper community involvement in decision-making processes.
Looking ahead to the Basho era, Hoskinson discussed plans for network scalability and optimization.
