Nyan Heroes, the team-based shooter game that draws inspiration from Overwatch and utilizes NFT assets on the Solana blockchain, has announced the upcoming return of its servers. This reactivation marks the start of the second phase of pre-alpha testing, scheduled to commence on May 8 and continue until May 26. Max Fu, the creative director and CEO of 9 Lives Interactive, shared this exciting news and hinted at the possibility of extending the testing period.
This return is particularly significant for Nyan Heroes, as it coincides with the launch of the game’s second season of the play-to-airdrop campaign. The new season aims to enhance the range of rewards available to players by introducing CATNIP points, in addition to the existing MEOW points. CATNIPs will be awarded based on player performance and will provide a multiplier effect on allocations for the upcoming NYAN token airdrop.
MEOW points, which were already part of the first season, can be earned by completing various in-game missions, such as playing a specific number of matches or defeating a certain number of opponents. With the introduction of CATNIP points, players can now strategize and engage in the game even more, knowing that their efforts will result in additional rewards.
It is worth noting that the functionality of CATNIP rewards was not activated during the first season. However, players who had already accumulated CATNIP points will have their points counted and validated for the new season. Furthermore, players also have the opportunity to earn CATNIP points outside the game by participating in social media activities through the Nyan Heroes play-to-airdrop panel.
