Visa, the global payments giant, has signed a new
collaboration
with Coinbase, enabling instant financial transactions for its users in the United States and the European Union. This strategic partnership marks a significant step in integrating traditional financial services with the growing cryptocurrency market by enabling Coinbase users to make quick deposits via Visa Direct.
Visa Direct, which is recognized for its ability to process transactions in real-time, will be a valuable asset for Coinbase customers. With the ability to send and receive money directly to Visa cards, the platform facilitates seamless and secure transactions for a variety of purposes, from refunds to payroll payments.
For Coinbase’s millions of users already linked to Visa debit cards, this new functionality represents a notable expansion of the platform’s services. Demand for immediate access to funds is growing, and the integration with Visa Direct meets that need. “This partnership will enable our eligible customers to take advantage of trading opportunities at any time, significantly elevating the user experience,” said Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, Head of Visa Direct for North America.

As a result of the functionality provided by Visa Direct, Coinbase customers can now:
Transfer funds to your Coinbase account in real time 1 using an eligible Visa debit card
Buy crypto on Coinbase directly with an eligible Visa debit card
Withdraw funds from Coinbase to a bank account, via an eligible Visa debit card, in real time 1
Visa and Coinbase also continue to offer a Coinbase Visa debit card to customers in the US.
Akash Shah, Senior Director of Product Management at Coinbase, highlights the advantages of this service. According to him, instant withdrawals to bank accounts, enabled by the partnership with Visa, give users greater financial control, in line with Coinbase’s mission to increase financial accessibility.
In addition to deposits, the service also supports fast withdrawals. Users with eligible Visa debit cards can now transfer funds instantly, which represents considerable convenience for everyday transactions.
